• Conditions of admission English and American Studies Teaching English Language and Literature in combination with a second subject - obtaining a university degree of the first (bachelor's) degree or the second (master's/engineering/doctoral) degree
• a commitment to respect the Catholic spirit of the University and the Faculty
• successfully pass an entrance examination in the form of an oral interview, which may also take place on-line. The interview is conducted in both Slovak and English and verifies the applicant's knowledge, skills and competences at the level of the Bachelor's degree programme (English language proficiency at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference
• possession of adequate knowledge of the English language, literature and culture of English-speaking countries
• the ability to think, interpret and present analytically, including in English language). The interview also identifies personal and motivational prerequisites for study (including proficiency in the Slovak language at a minimum level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference). The maximum number of points is 10. The minimum number of points for passing the admission examination is 6 (out of 10). For teacher education programmes combined with music education or with art education, the deadline for applications is no later than 8 April 2026 Additional information The KU Faculty of Arts also offers the possibility of inter-faculty teaching combinations, i.e. the candidate can choose one subject from the offer of the KU Faculty of Arts and one subject from the offer of the KU Faculty of Education (accredited study programmes of the Faculty of Arts can be found at ). Applicants for interfaculty programmes must meet the admission requirements from both teaching subject specialisations. For the music education and art education teacher specialization programs, successful completion of a talent exam is required.
