- Conditions of admission All applicants will go through a selection procedure. The basic condition for admission to doctoral studies is the acquisition of a second degree (Act on Higher Education No. 131/2002 Coll.) in the same or in a related field of study (a list of related fields of study is available at An application must be submitted by the deadline set by the academic calendar. Conditions for international students Foreign applicants for studies are admitted on the basis of relevant interstate agreements or if they study in a language other than the state language, they pay tuition fees according to the conditions set out in Section 92(8) of the Higher Education Act. Tuition fees are set by a UNIZA directive and published for the relevant academic year on the University's website. Applicants who do not have an active knowledge of Slovak or Czech are required to have successfully completed language training (with the possibility of doing so at UNIZA). Applicants from the Czech Republic may use the form valid in the Czech Republic to apply for studies.
