  • Conditions of admission Conditions for admission to study in the 3rd cycle of studies (doctoral studies): The basic condition for admission to doctoral studies is the completion of a second-degree university degree (Section 56(4) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts). A duly and fully completed electronic application form submitted via MAIS ( ) or paper application form delivered to the faculty address, including the attachments listed in the following points. When submitting an electronic application via MAIS, the application must also be printed, hand-signed and mailed to the faculty's address. The application for doctoral studies must be delivered to the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business with all attachments and proof of payment of the admission fee (in the amount of 50 EUR): - by the deadline 31.5.2025 in the 1st round of admission - by the deadline 15.8.2025 in the 2nd round of admission 2. professional curriculum vitae, 3. dissertation research plan with a summary in English, 4. list of published and unpublished works, 5. documents demonstrating the applicant's abilities (e.g. 6. an officially certified photocopy of the diploma and the state examination certificate , which must be sent by post or delivered in person to the FMEO PU. Applicants who have completed their studies of the 2nd degree at a higher education institution outside the territory of the Slovak Republic (or the Czech Republic) are obliged to deliver also: Decision on recognition of equivalence of educational documents (so-called nostrification). Nostrification must be requested from: (a) the relevant faculty in Slovakia that conducts study programmes in the same or related fields of study as those listed on the education document, or (b) the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport (if there is no higher education institution in the Slovak Republic that conducts study programmes in the same or related fields of study as those listed on the education document). Apostille - for documents of education issued in States which are parties to the Convention of 5 October 1961 on the Abolition of the Requirement of Higher Attestation for Foreign Public Documents (the Hague Convention). Legalisation/super-legalization (nostrification) - for educational documents issued in States which are not party to the Hague Convention. 7. Proof of payment of the admission fee 50 Euros (uploadable as an attachment to the e-application form). Students applying for doctoral studies (in the 1st round of the admission procedure) in the full-time form of study, who will take the state final examination of the 2nd cycle of the university degree (master's or engineering) in the academic year 2024/2025, are obliged to apply for studies (as well as other applicants for studies) by 31. 2025 and send officially certified evidence of successful completion of their second cycle studies by 20 June 2025 at the latest. A candidate for study at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business may submit multiple applications for study at this faculty - this applies to both study programmes and the form of study. If the applicant does not meet all the above admission requirements, he/she will be excluded from the admission procedure. Applications received after the closing date or without the required requirements will not be accepted by the faculty. The expected date of the entrance examination is within the date range 23.6.2025-11.7.2025. The specific date as well as the address and room of the board entrance examination will be specified to the candidates after the registration of the application form and the closing date for the admission of applications for PhD studies. The candidate chooses the topic of his/her future dissertation (written by the respective supervisor) from the published offer when applying for the doctoral studies. Dissertation topics will be published by 31.03.2025. Information about the dissertation topics offered, about the supervisors and about the study regulations can be obtained by applicants on the website of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business of PU - "Science and Research"- "Doctoral Studies"- "Thesis Topics" and at the Unit for Science, Research and Doctoral Studies of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business of PU in Prešov. The admission procedure in the form of an interview will be conducted by the applicants before the committee - in accordance with the legal obligation - in oral form in the following areas, in which the demonstration of knowledge and readiness is a condition for the admission of the applicant (or his/her placement in the order for admission) : methodology and methods of scientific research, English language at the level of proficiency " advanced", management, marketing and economics, defence of a research project in the field of the selected dissertation topic. A candidate can be admitted to the programme only if the result of the board examination in these 4 areas mentioned above obtained by the candidate is 'Pass'. He/she is admitted on the basis of his/her ranking as evaluated by the examination board. Concluding information and caveats: Application form should be submitted completely filled in including attachments by the given deadline and in case of e-application, the application form should also be printed, signed and delivered or sent to the address of FMEO PU. Applicants are strongly advised to include their own e-mail address and telephone number in the application form. In case the applicant fails to deliver all the required documents related to admission, he/she will be eliminated from the admission process. Applicants must pay the administrative fee for the admission procedure by bank transfer or postal money order, and proof of payment of the fee must be submitted with the application form. Self-payers are admitted on the basis of a contract - in accordance with the legislation in force. In the case of an applicant who has completed studies of the 2nd degree at a university outside the territory of the Slovak Republic, it is necessary to submit a decision on the recognition of the equivalence of educational documents (so-called nostrification) (explained in more detail in the text above).
